How to Save For and On a Disney Destinations Vacation

Tip #1 how to save for a Disney vacation. So my family likes to have something to look forward to for vacation each year, so we usually make a reservation and pay the down payment ($200 for a package) about 6 months to a year before we want to go, then save up and pay it off over time. You have until 45 days before you leave to pay in full. So one thing we do to save is put change we find in a Disney cup- in pockets, furniture, on the street - then take it to the change machine and turn it in for a Disney Gift Card which can be used towards your vacation! I paid down $300 of last year's vacation this way! Want to follow my plan? Start planning now and get your deposit in!

Tip #2 how to save on a Disney vacation - if you are planning to go for a long trip to Walt Disney World, it MAY make sense to have one person buy an annual pass to get access to discounts. The price (subject to change) for an annual pass after tax is $675. Annual passholders get: free parking ($17 per day), Tables in Wonderland for $100 that saves 20% on dining at many Disney restaurants, discounts on merchandise at select Disney stores. They also get "passholder only" resort and package discounts that can be up to 35% off in some cases. If you are looking at a seven day or longer trip, it may make sense to compare all the discounts you get with buying just a straight ticket and see if it makes sense. A 7 day ticket with PH and WP&M options is $436. If you add TIW the cost of the pass is $775. You will often save more than $339 between resort discounts, dining and merchandise discounts plus free parking.  Then you can buy the rest of your tickets through me, as long as it is for a minimum of 3 days!

Saving for your Disney trip #3. You can save on your Disney trip with Disney gift cards! One way is with a Target Red Card. You save 5% on all purchases, including Disney gift cards, and Disney gift cards can be applied towards your stay so you can save 5% on your whole trip! You can also get a 5% discount at SAMs Club and Costco.  Also, if your grocery store is running a gas discount, buy a Disney gift card to go towards the gas discount. You won't necessarily be saving on the trip itself, but you will save on the gas which is nearly the same thing - then apply that card you bought to your trip!

Did you know you can pay for your entire vacation with Disney gift cards? You will, however, have to enter each one, one at a time... and you can only enter two for each transaction online. So, if you have been doing as I suggested, and have a huge stack of gift cards but don't have time to enter them, let me do the work for you! And don't worry, I won't gobble up the savings - as long as you book your trip with me my services are free! Anne@FairyGodmotherTravel.com. Want to know more ways to save?
